Experience Christ’s healing love in the sacrament of reconciliation

“God knows our struggles. He knows that we often fail. Yet His love never fails. No matter how many times we stumble, we find Him ready to receive us again. In the sacrament of penance, we encounter a God who does not simply wait for us but rushes out to meet us. This is the beauty of the sacrament.” – Bishop Walkowiak

The season of Lent by its penitential nature is an opportune time for anyone seeking forgiveness to receive God’s unfailing mercy and restore and renew their relationship with Jesus through the sacrament of penance.

During The Light is ON For You, on Thursday, March 19, individual confession will be available at St. Paul from 5 – 8 pm.
This weekend we celebrate the 4th Sunday of Lent. Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 5 pm and Sunday at 9 and 11 am.

Our catechumens and candidates celebrated the Rite of Elect and the Call to Continuing Conversion at the Cathedral of St. Andrew on Monday March 2nd. Across the entire world on the first two Sundays of Lent Catholic bishops will welcome those sent by their parish community to gather together with their sponsors for what is known as the Rite of Election and the Call to Continuing Conversion. The Diocese of Grand Rapids celebrated these Rites with 549 people to be welcomed into full communion with the Church during the Easter Vigil Masses.

Please continue to pray for Aaron, Emily, Jessie, Julia, Marianna, Arianna, Logan, Kevin, Abbie, Cynthia and Jocelyn as they continue on their journey to receiving sacraments at the Easter Vigil Mass.

As we prepare for Easter, join parishioners from St. Thomas, IHM, and St. Paul for a joint Reconciliation service at IHM on Sunday, March 8. Multiple priests will be available. This is an excellent opportunity to encounter God’s mercy and peace during this holy season. All Catholics are welcome anytime between 4-6 PM at 1935 Plymouth Ave SE.
On Sunday March 1, the Penitential Rite was celebrated at the 11 am Mass. Our prayer for these candidates, and for ourselves, is that the presence of Jesus among us will transfigure all our lives with His redeeming grace, bringing us to conversion - a genuine desire to be holy as He is holy.
